A Biography About Steve Miller

 

Steve was born and raised in Carbon County, Pennsylvania and from a young age Steve has tried to surround himself with our commonwealth’s beautiful places and wildlife. Steve has always felt the desire to go to the places seldom visited. Photography became the tool that allowed him to capture the energy and excitement for the beautiful creation we seldom get to be a part of.
Most days we’re unable to slow down enough to truly experience nature in all its intrinsic detail. Steve has been doing landscape and wildlife photography for around 10 years now. He photographs with digital 35mm equipment, and works with 4-5 lenses for different perspectives. He believes in the extensive use of in the field filtration to capture what his minds eye envisioned. Steve’s interests in photography include dramatic grand scale landscapes, enclosed compositions, bodies of water, and almost every species of plant and animal native to Pennsylvania.
Nature photography was found to be a demanding yet incredibly rewarding experience for Steve because the images he makes must communicate without words or descriptions. He must be able to see and observe but not be seen. Plus his patience must be infinite if he wishes to make lasting images able to pull on people’s heart strings. By studying his work Steve wants to give you reason to pause so that it fosters a greater appreciation of our state and God‘s Creation.

When the viewer contemplates Steve’s work, and takes enjoyment in what they see and feel, The artists' goal of fulfilling his commitment with respect to the talents and intuition he has been given by God was successfull!
